Registered voters need to understand what the Democratic and Republican candidates policies are before they cast their vote on November 3.

The polls are open for early voting in Texas and Election Day, November 3, is drawing closer. Many voters are still unsure who they are voting for and they do not know what policies each candidate will deliver.

Early voting in Texas ends on Friday, October 30, 2020 for this election leaving less time for people to make their voice heard.

According to CNN Politics website, when it comes to COVID-19 and the health of Americans, Biden is for free testing and encourages President Donald Trump to take greater actions.

“Biden’s plan to address the pandemic includes offering free testing to all Americans. He is also urging Trump to use the Defense Production Act to ramp up production of protective equipment for health care workers, testing supplies and other items.” Quote from CNN Politics website.

According to The Washington Post, Trump actions are similar to the actions that Biden would take through the course of this pandemic.

“Trump has said the government provides free coronavirus tests, but a national testing strategy the administration wrote at Congress’s direction leaves much of the responsibility for testing plans to the states. Trump has complained that widespread testing “makes us look bad” by increasing known case counts.” Quote from The Washington Post.

On the topic of health, Biden is for keeping as well as expanding Obamacare and recently called it Bidencare in his second Presidential Debate.

“Biden says he would build on the ACA to give more people the choice of a public insurance plan, rather than creating a Medicare-for-all single-payer system. Biden announced a proposal in the spring to make Americans eligible for Medicare at age 60, instead of the current 65.” Quote from The Washington Post.

On the other hand, President Trump wants to create lower prices for pharmaceutical drugs.

“President Trump has also promised to bring down drug prices in the US, and in July brought in measures that would allow discounts and import of cheaper drugs from abroad, though some industry analysts have said they would not have much effect.” According to BBC’s website.

When it comes to a prominent topic of 2020 and the Black Lives Matter movement, both parties’ candidates are against defunding the police department.

“The vast majority of police are decent, honorable people, but there are bad apples, man. And we have to change the way in which we teach police. We have to release all the information,” Biden said at a fundraiser.

Donald Trump is a strong supporter of the law enforcement and said they are “doing an incredible job” when he was questioned on if he would defund the police.

Minimum wage is an ongoing topic throughout the years. Where the 2020 presidential candidates stand on this topic is similar.

For Biden, he believes that the minimum wage should be 15 dollars an hour.

“Families, including first-responders during the coronavirus pandemic, “deserve $15 an hour,” he said. Anything below that puts you below the poverty level.” Quote from Politico’s website.

When it comes to Trump, he believes that minimum wage should be determined by each state.

Trump said, “some places, $15 is not so bad,” he said. “In other places, other states, $15 is ruins.”
